Common Data on the Great Belt Connection

Travel in Denmark

Denmark is a little country on top of the European continent, covering only 43.000 square km. Denmark has more than 8.000 km of coast as Denmark is made up of the Jutland Peninsula and the important islands of Funen and Sealand.

Travelling in Denmark has constantly involved ferryboats in one way or other, but since 1998 it has been possible to cross the Great Belt by the Great Belt Fixed Link. The Fixed Connection between Funen and Sealand comprises the Eastern Bridge, a 6,790 meter suspension bridge from Sealand to Sprogoe and an 6,600 m long bridge between Sprogoe and Funen.

The Great Belt

The Great Belt Fixed Connection is a 4 lane toll expressway and you can pay toll in different ways. You can pay by immediate payment or credit card and you can buy a digital unit called brobizz which automatically registrates your passings and withdraws the cost from your credit card. Using a brobizz spares 5 % of the toll fee.

Crossing the Great Belt Paid bridge holds you eligible to discounts on more than 10,000 hotels, attractions and exhibitions throughout Denmark. Attractions such as Tivoli, Lego Land, Copenhagen Zoological Garden and other great attractions in Denmark provides up to 20 % price reduction on visitors showing a toll reciept from the Great Belt Fixed Link.

Besides hotels like the Radisson hotel chain, several hundred inn’s and different sorts of accomodation provides 20 % discount on your rest in Denmark.

Live reservation

If you are fording the Great Belt for business, i.e. busses and camions, you can pay in advance via our on-line booking scheme. Bus companies and cargo companies can make a commercial enterprise agreement with the Great Belt Consortium and use the booking scheme to gain smarter crossing at the Toll Post.
